Dr. Hammer completed medical school at Stanford University. He then did his residency training in Diagnostic Radiology at the Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was chosen as one of the Chief Residents. Dr Hammer then completed a fellowship in Cardiothoracic Imaging at the University of Pennsylvania, after which he joined the staff at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Thoracic Radiology. Dr Hammer’s research interests include management of pulmonary nodules and imaging of mediastinal masses.
